Trying my hand at sporst betting

Guess what everyone!? I am going to Las Vegas this weekend! I am so stoked I can't believe it. I have never been so I am in for an experience. My girls invited me to go with them a few days ago so this is such a surprise and an unexpected delight. We got a hotel suite comped for a few nights but since there are too many of us we are going to split the other room which is fine. I have been studying up on the games in Vegas (well any casino) because I have no idea what to do. I am reading all about the betting odds for each game and how different the odds number of decks, for example, in blackjack mean goes up and down for a win or loss.

I know I will lose money but it will be fun anyways I think. My old boss wants me to place a bet on a game or two for him since it is March Madness. I know even less about sports odds so I am having him make me nice directions on exactly what to do. He does not do sport betting often but he figured since I will be in Sin City I may as well throw down for him. It's his deal, not mine. I will stick to the $5 blackjack and nickel and quarter slots. I did hear about the American Idol slot machines at one of the casinos so that will fun I think. I just have to see them.

I want to go to some shows to try and get me away from gambling but we will see how that goes. I know I will stay far away from poker as I am more readable than 24 point font is from a 10 inch distance. It is going to be so much fun; I love spring break. My nerves are setting in because we are leaving bright and early tomorrow and I still need to pack and clean since I am returning from Vegas then leaving the next day back to school. I will have some stories to tell I am sure. Hopefully good ones otherwise I will adhere to the what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas though I have a feeling since there is 16 of us going if I make a fool of myself everyone will know. Cameras shall not be allowed near me! Must go pack everyone! Hope you're break is as awesome as mine.

Poker: SO many different forms to play

Full tilt poker is the thing right now. A lot of my friends are really into poker and it has been on the rise for a while. The best part about poker is that here are so many ways that you can play.

You can have friends over for a poker game. My parents used to have a weekly game night where they would switch off with their friends and they would get together and play card games and drink and just hang out and relax. On the show Desperate Housewives they always get together to play poker and gossip. Poker used to be seen as more of a mans game and it really has changed over the years I think. Especially after the show came on and people saw that.

You can have a casino night for charity. My grade school had a casino night every year to raise money. The parents and PTA would deal and put on the casino night and then family members, members of the community and others would come out and have a great time playing poker and black jack and socializing. And then all of the money would go to the school and the kids.

You can play online. Full tilt poker has become popular and playing online is bigger than ever right now. A friend of mine won poker playing online and was entered and won a trip to the Bahamas to continue to play everything was paid for and he brought along friends and they had a great time. They went from playing in their frat house together and online to traveling and playing other people that enjoyed the game as well.

And of course you can go to Vegas or other casinos to play. The thing is, poker definitely isn't new, but I think that it took a little nap and is waking up now. It used to be a thing for older people to play but now younger kids (like high school and college) are really getting into it. There are so many different forms that you can play and get involved, that it makes it easy to want to. My friends and I decided to have a poker night every month just so that we can get together, maybe make (probably lose) a little money and just have a great time.
