Escorts

I really didn't know anything about escort services or even what escorts were until one day when I was watching a crime TV show and they were talking about these soccer moms who decided to open their own “adultwork” business on the side. The crime wasn't actually the business, it was the fact that the two women ending up killing someone (which I guess is beside the point) but it really made me interested in this topic that I had never heard of before. Adultwork seems to be something that is frowned upon like in television shows, but I wonder how is really happens in the real world. It is interesting more now than ever because politicians are getting caught (married politicians) sleeping with ‘professionals' and instead of being ashamed of their adult work, they end up making a ton of money and some of them are even writing books about their experiences. Actually I think I even heard about a TV movie or TV show coming out about the secret lives of escorts or something like that.

I know people look down on the profession, but really, who are we to judge? Obviously these women are business savvy and know how to make money. Some of them are in this line of work because they are funding their schooling or providing for their families. On the television show Grey's Anatomy, one of the interns paid for her school by stripping and they focused almost an entire episode on that aspect. But I think more of it came out about her doing what she had to do and know she is debt free and becoming a doctor than her being ashamed. It was more of an accomplishment, or a step towards her accomplishment to her (and probably to a lot of the viewers that could relate to her in some way).

I feel like maybe instead of judging other people in general, we should just accept them and what they do. Adult work may be off limits for some people, but for others it is about passion and for others it is about business and a way of like and surviving. So while we are doing things the way we like to do them, other people are living their lives the way they want to and I don't really think it is any of our business to judge that.
